Sub : YIN Study Circle Meeting via video conference on 24th February, 2010

We are glad to inform that the upcoming YIN Study Circle Meeting will be on a topic which is fast gaining relevance and importance - “Judicial Anti-Avoidance Mechanisms". IFA for the first time proposes to host this study circle meeting through a joint video conference between Mumbai and Bangalore enabling it to connect participants from both the cities.

The details of the programme are as follows:

The purpose of discussion will be to understand the different approaches that have been taken internationally by courts pertaining to the issue of tax avoidance transactions. Their discussion would also reflect upon their effectiveness in achieving their ends and the impact they have on the taxpayer’s rights.

We are very grateful to Mr. Nishith Desai, Mr. T. P. Ostwal, & Ms Tara Rao who have confirmed their participation. Mr. Kuntal Dave, YIN Central Committee, IFA Netherlands will welcome them as well as other participants. Their valuable inputs and the wide experience which the speakers’ posses over the topic the members are sure to benefit from this discussion.
