SPEAKER PROFILES
Clįudia Vasconcelos - International Business Centre of Madeira (Executive Senior Manager)
Clįudia Vasconcelos, 37 years old, has an undergraduate degree in International Relations and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Catholic University of Portugal. She is currently Executive Senior Management of the Marketing Department of S.D.M. Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira, S.A., which she joined in 1995. As part of her responsibilities within the department, she has been a speaker at several international conferences concerning international investment and taxation.
Before joining S.D.M., Clįudia Vasconcelos had worked in the Commercial Department of the American Embassy in Lisbon, attracting and supporting U.S. investors into Portugal. She is also the co-author of the book Madeira: some thoughts on its development. An insight into 10 small successful economies.
Mr. Joćo Dias Dixcart Management (Madeira) Lda (Managing Director)
Joćo Dias has masterminded Dixcart operations in Madeira since the inception of the Madeira office in 1988. This initially involved the creation of Dixcart Management (Madeira) Lda, which was the first management company established on the island of Madeira. Joćo has overseen the expansion of the organization, which now employs over 60 staff. As Managing Director, Joćo has a wide range of responsibility, including development and implementation of strategy, senior contact on client matters and on-going marketing of the organization. Joćo has previously worked in a number of countries, gaining extensive financial and managerial experience. He speaks fluent English and Portuguese and is also proficient in several other languages.
Mr. Joćo Almeida - Dixcart Management (Madeira) Lda (Lawyer)
Joćo joined Dixcart in November 2006. He graduated from Law School at the University of Lisbon and has three post-graduate qualifications in tax and public law. He was a partner at a Law firm in Lisbon and worked with a variety of clients, both private and public. His role is to provide assistance on legal and tax matters related to client affairs, namely tax planning structures and group restructuring. He also assists in the marketing of Dixcart in Madeira.
